Welcome to this week’s installment of many micro stories, ranging in length from 100 words to 500 words.
With each story we hope to deliver a little whimsy into the lives of our readers.
AN ANCIENT SONG
An ancient song can bring him back….
Karla had tried everything: every known modern spell she could track down to bring Paris back to life, but there wasn’t so much as an eyelash flutter. His decaying vessel lay in an ice-bath in the basement, with sage and wild huckleberry slowing the breakdown.
The answer came from a song on the radio. The voice. The melody. She recalled the words then, to the prayer her great-great grandmother had shared on her deathbed. That voice on the radio was identical, and told Karla all she needed to reunite with her lover again.
